This is not taken on my birthday (which I sort of forgot about, this year). The balloon was bought for Eric, because he *loves* spherical objects of all kind, especially if airborne. One of the dozen or so words in his active vocabulary is "ball", which he applies to anything from tiny rubber balls to televised images of the Earth.
